So I’ve decided to start a new tradition.
After last year’s random April trip that resulted in a visit to the USS Texas and the Johnson Space Center, I’ve decided that every year I need to go on a geekation. That’s, y’know, a geeky vacation.
So right now I’m in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Tomorrow I’ll be seeing all kinds of Civil War-related things. Then I’ll be headed down to Mobile, AL to see the USS Alabama.
And I’m about to put the laptop away to read Scalzi’s The Android’s Dream.
I couldn’t be a bigger geek if I tried. And I’m totally okay with that.
Also, on the off chance you run in to it, there’s a Mississippi microbrewery called Lazy Magnolia. They make a pecan-based nut brown ale called Southern Pecan. It’s delicious. I’m just sayin’. Also, they sell it at a place called Rusty’s Riverfront Grill. They fry a mean shrimp over there…
My goal on this trip, for the record, is to not eat fast food. Life is better without McDonald’s…
Oh, and this one’s for you, Everlasting Dave:
