So I made a last minute decision not to return to Chicago for Christmas. The weather reports were full of freezing rain in Missouri and snow in Illinois. Death in a fiery car accident seemed like a less preferable action than life a thousand miles away from family.
It’s tough, I suppose, being in Dallas this first year.
But here I am. It’s 2:30 on Christmas morning. I’m expecting neither Santa nor Jesus and I’m okay with that.
In fact, I’ve created quite a lineup of Christmas spirits.
So merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
It will be a new year in a week. And with new years come new possibility. But between now and then, well, I’ll be snuggled up in my bed, hoping for visions of sugar plums to invade my head.
Merry Christmas, Geds! At least you get to sleep late.
