If the camera he took the picture with cost more than the computer he used to put it online, it's art.
Hey, if I used a drugstore-issue disposable camera to take a bunch of pictures of my cats, d'you think I could pass it off as True Art if I said I was making some kind of postmodern Statement?

Also, um, probably not. It would largely depend on what you were doing with the cats and how you used the term "postmodern." But, mostly, I think you'd just be taking pictures of cats. Sorry...

Even if I later unveiled the whole thing as a "social experiment" later? Dang. Too bad there's nobody who likes plain old pictures of cats, especially not on the Internet.

Yeah. You're gonna have a tough time selling that whole "pictures of cats" thing to the internet. Good try with the, "But it's art!" dodge, though. You might be able to fake out the French that way.
