And, I suppose, cats, if you're one of those people...
Rescue dogs are kind of a big deal to me. My first dog, Mousse, came from a shelter. My second dog, Oscar, also came from a shelter. My sister and bro-in-law's dog came from a shelter. Daisy...well, she didn't come from a shelter, but you'd better believe she was rescued. I also briefly volunteered at the Irving shelter when I was down in Texas.
On Sunday, May 6th I'll be taking Daisy dog and doing a 5K Walkathon for A.D.O.P.T., a no-kill shelter in Naperville, IL. In the interests of full disclosure, none of the aforementioned dogs came from A.D.O.P.T. But, still, they're good. My bro-in-law used to volunteer there on the weekends. I think he still might. I'll have to ask. Also, several of my friends are doing this, so there, dagnabit.
You -- yes, you! -- can help. How? Donate.
Go here. Put in a few bucks. I've got a modest stated goal of $100, but I'd love more. So give until it hurts. Then give a little more. Then sell a bunch of your shit and give the proceeds to the poor homeless puppies.
It's only fair, really.
I love dags. They're so cute. Dags, daggers, dagging... they're just so much fun!
